Uncommon and deplete in surroundings, RS Lounge is situated in the midst of green forestry. Accessible by car, RS Lounge (bar, restaurant and club) is East Londons fresh-on-the-scene combo.Upon arrival, we were dazzled by the minimalist settings - modern architecture, white clinical interiors and comfy seat ware make a grand impression. Flustered by the maze-like venue, punters are spoilt by an exceptional choice of either the main bar, lounge bar or alfresco terrace to wine and dine. Comfortably seated, we opt for the lounge bar and order a few bites for the night ahead.Enticed by the King Prawn marinated in pepper, fresh coriander and olive oil, and the Grilled Salmon, buttered asparagus in avocado, served with Dill dressing and Dill potatoes, we were disheartened. Our main courses were rigid in texture and lacking in taste. Noticeably, the Salmon course was absent from its promised accompaniments and the King Prawn was flavourless. Redeemed by the Wild Grilled Mushroom marinated with Dijon mustard, olive oil and herbs, we soon felt reassured. Though RSs location is discreet, the venue (by 10pm ish) is a heaving sweatbox a haunt mingled by attractive dames and groomed gents. Their drink menu is lengthy on the eye and wondrous on the palate. Some noteworthy concoctions include the French 75, a gin, champagne, strawberry and mint melange, as well as the Classic, a champagne, brandy, brown sugar and angostura bitters delight. Having the combined functions of a bar, restaurant and club, RS Lounge is certainly vivacious for a soiree of social shenanigans. But as the ol adage goes, three is a crowd, especially in the case of its dining experience.
